How Old Are We Again?

This weekend, our friends Justin and Darby invited us to go with them (and no babies!) to the mountains......to make some new friends and catch up with some old ones.We did a whole lot of this:But we also did our fair share of this: Behind Justin's parent's mountain house there was this large hill on a golf course just perfect for sledding: My first run down the hill, I rode with Jeremiah, and my protective husband...barrelled right over me and left me like this:
And as I began the treacherous ascent back to the top of our mountain, I almost ate it again: After getting the hang of things a little more, the boys got competitive:
And we girls showed them that we could compete as well (I hope you can all see how well this is going to end :)):Then, they got a little adventurous:And we answered that challenge:And upped 'em two more:However, at that point, they started flat out trying to kill themselves:
And we had the wisdom to head inside and eat after that :)

We laughed and ate and played and sang and shared our burdens and worshipped our God. It was truly magnificent.

Thanks for making it happen guys...

That sounds like the most amazing time - with some AMAZING people - it's funny, I actually had a dream last night about both Lindsey and Tommy - it was like a flashback to high school, but seeing that picture just brought it straight to the forefront of my mind!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!

Abby, These pictures make me smile and ache at the same time. I'm not sure my body will ever be the same again! I will likely recover in a few weeks! :) We had an absolute blast and analyzed our wonderful weekend for the 7 hour trip home... couldn't have been any better!! So glad y'all joined us--- do we all get to come out to Seattle for a long weekend next year?! love, Darcy

Oh, and I have an edit for you...

We laughed and ate and played and sang and shared our burdens and worshipped our God... drank some wine with chocolate and chased it with high doses of ibuprofen. It was truly magnificent.

Thank you for sharing this. I came over to get your, from what I'm hearing, the BEST bread ever, recipe.
And I'm leaving with a smile on my face because with all the fun, food, fellowship sharing y'all enjoyed, none of it means as much as when we have our friends and our Lord to listen to our many woe's. They are surely some lifter-uppers,aren't they!!
Okay, I'm making the bread tomorrow, maybe I can get it to work so as I can bake it at the right time Thursday.
I thank SUE from the cotton patch for sending me your way.
God bless,

Hey Abby,

I don't know if you remember me, but I'm the Gannons' 1st cousin, Ginger. A friend in Florida where I live now told me about Darby's blog because she knew I was from Dothan, and I was looking at the weekend pictures and started thinking "Wow, that looks just like Becky Clark!" And then I saw the name "Jeremiah" and put it all together who you were! I just wanted to tell you that I was so blessed to see your face and remember your sweet mama. It's always nice to see there are still good young folks in Dothan!

Take care,
Ginger Myers
