Now, I am Really In Trouble

I have fallen madly in love...with this nightstand. I wanted to show you the picture of the sides (because they are painted too) but I could not figure out how to "steal" that picture. This is why I should have never started re-decorating. It started out with a sweet gift, but now I've started looking, and you know what that leads to don't you...FINDING. I can't find things! I am not ALLOWED. There is no money for such FRIVOLITY!

But somehow I don't care. When I love, I love hard, and I am afraid I've got this little baby in my sights. I saw her and she said, "Don't you want to lay your old book on me each night, just before you turn out the light? Don't you want to tuck your embroidery inside my little drawers? Don't you think I would look just perfect nestled next to your new bedding?" I am serious; she said all of those things.

I called to talk to my best friend about it this morning. I told her that I knew I couldn't have it now, but I have bookmarked the page, and I am just going to keep an eye on her until something happens...like she goes on MAJOR sale. I was hoping Whitney would have told me that was a good idea. Lay low, keep your eyes peeled. BUT SHE DIDN'T. She said, "What if they sell out before you can buy her? If you love it THAT much, you should just go ahead and get it." Great advice Whit! Where did you earn your Money Management degree? :) It probably is a good idea to spend BORROWED MONEY to buy a NIGHTSTAND.

So I've been stewing over it. My friend Darby had a big garage sale to buy the camera she wanted...and it worked. To me, this offers a model example of what a good responsible person should do if they truly want something...WORK FOR IT. Then, how much sweeter is the purchase, when you know that you sweated out every dollar? I created an Etsy page a while back, in hopes of selling some of those little dresses I embroidered for the girls. I haven't ever told y'all about it, partly because it makes my stomach curdle to try to sell anything to anybody. Being a salesman is my worst nightmare. But maybe this Love of Nightstand will be the stimulus to go ahead and put myself out there. We'll see. I do love her...

HOLD ON! I first said that you should find something similar at a garage sale and paint it to look like that. And when you shot that down, I said to buy it if you like it that much! FYI, my coworker said that they have one in the garage that you can have and try to paint it.

That is not what you FIRST said. You FIRST said to buy it, and then you mentioned that other little idea (which would never work because I cannot paint like that).

But I can paint like that!

as silly as it sounds, the Lord uses your posts as an encouragement to me. heres why. there this painting that I want - an expensive painting. I know I cant have it and that I cant go spend that kind of money (that I dont have) on a weird piece of unappreciated art, but it is really on my heart - and like you, when I fall, I fall hard. (tears have been shed over this piece of art-ha ha ha!)

That said, I am willing to work for it and am trying to come up with creative ways to save money for it. You should post a link to your etsy site on your blog. Surely with all of your blog reader fan club, you will generate some sales.

In the mean time, I will pray that the Lord will give you the grace for the finances for the piece that you want! ...and if you want to pray for me and my little painting, then that is great too :D

...or if Whitney wants to paint yours for you and mine for me, then that is fine too. ha ha ha

I am obsessed as well...I think I might need the same one for my apartment?? where did you find it? It would look beautiful next to the fabric you chose for your bolster pillow!

Love it - go ahead, save up as much as you can and then get it - maybe ask around to parents and family and see if it could be an early present for something!!!! I don't think you'll regret it!

Love the nightstand. Looks like it's from Anthropologie... is it? I LOVE that store.

I do think it is something that you could find a cheaper version of and paint--- but I do know what it is like to find something you love and have your heart set on!

Can't wait to see what you figure out.

Listen, you can't tell us you have an etsy shop and then not give us a link. Please tell us.. maybe we can help you get your nightstand.

Hey.. if it works, I may tell my bloggers I want a new car and see if they're all willing to donate a little. My slogan can be: "If everyone gives a little no one has to give a lot."

I hope you get this night stand soon. Where did you find it? Why not post some hand towels, or pillow cases? Good luck...Try the free one and paint it...why not? You can always paint over it and use some where!
