Like a Stream in the Desert

I'm sorry I've been gone so long. A whole lot has happened out here over the last week...we've moved into our new house for the rest of the year and had our first visitors! Mainly, I haven't posted because the earliest our internet could be hooked up was late yesterday afternoon. Right now, I am about to start packing to fly back to Florence, Alabama to see one of my best friends from college get married. So, not a whole lot of time to get you caught up, but here's a little glimpse at what's to come:

Our house:
The reason this post is titled like it is is because that was the phrase that played over and over in my head the day we moved into this house. It's weird because I feel totally ok about telling you how awesome this place is...because it is nothing but a gift from God. I'm serious. We could not afford to pay anywhere near what it should cost to rent this place, fully furnished, in the location where it is, with all the room it has, WITH THE VIEWS THAT CONTINUALLY TAKE OUR BREATH AWAY. I feel like God opened up "a stream in the desert," and we have been giddy with his sweet provision.

This is what I looked out on from our porch as I sipped my coffee and had a little devotion the morning after we moved in.

Seriously?! Is that real?!

I don't think the wonder will ever wear off. Jeremiah and I can't decide if it's more beautiful in the day with Mount Rainier and sailboats in the harbor, or at night with the lights of the city twinkling all around and reflecting off the water. I mean, thank you Lord, is all I know to say.

The Guests:

Ashley, Alex, and Josh (Jeremiah's sisters and brother) came to visit us last Thursday and helped us make this house feel like a home.

I can't wait to tell you about all the adventures we had with them...

But right now I HAVE to pack. Be back with more after the weekend! Promise!

how awesome!!! we are moving next summer, but don't find out where until april at the earliest. since i'm a planner, i have moments of nervousness, but i'm trying really hard to block those thoughts b/c i've had a long talk with God and He assured me that everything was going to be fine. your pics are just reminding me that He has His hand on everything and to stop worrying and thinking about it. thank you for that! now i do have one other comment... is josh (?) wearing a puffy vest with no sleeves? if so, all i have to say is awesome. at this moment my son is watching a-team and josh could fit right in! i'm glad you guys are adjusting well!

Abby, If you are still on Face Book, please check my page. Ashley's, husbands Unit, In Iraq, had a terrible attack last Wed. It's on my post. 2 dead, and 11 seriously wounded. They all need prayers. Terrible, terrible blow to The Wolfhounds. Glory to God, Don, her husband is okay. But, his heart is heavy as he is their Commanding Officer. The attack was similar to the one last yr. at FT. Hood. They were caught off guard totally. Thanks for prayers, prayers, prayers! G
