I was amazed at the strength and grace you all showed throughout everything you all have been through. You mother was a true blessing to us all and the night of her vigil I have never felt the spririt of the Lord like that before in my life. You have an amazing talent and should really think about writing some novels of your own. I am so glad that I have found this and will continue to be an avid reader.
Love and blessings!
Katie Lester TrundtKatieThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11723213540826001038noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-722187693151167525.post-60909362329328170382008-03-05T07:40:00.000-06:002008-03-05T07:40:00.000-06:00Engaging all of the senses is crucial to powerful ...Engaging all of the senses is crucial to powerful writing. But, to engage those senses in writing, the author must not only be diligent in engaging in them in real life, but also, be ever aware of them as they are happening so that they may recall them latter to share with others. I have heard it said that when we "immerse" ourselves in life, it is nearly impossibly not to truly experience every facet of each experience. Your words are rich... like a delicious daydream and they have the ability to transport me to another time and space. I love the way that you immerses yourself in all that you do.
I am blessed by each detail you can recall. You take me places I've never been before... giving me your insight and point of view... allowing my imagination to rest and (simply)... take a vacation :)
Thank You. My heart and my senses are captivated.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-722187693151167525.post-53325038646021962152008-03-04T13:54:00.000-06:002008-03-04T13:54:00.000-06:00Abby,This post has really inspired me. At first I was disappointed there were no pictures... but then, when I read on and on there was no need, I have it all pictured beautifully in my head! What a fabulous post and what fabulous thoughts about raising up young women to be homemakers! Something to ponder for sure! I got a marketing degree and never used it... my grandfather once asked me if I thought I wasted my education... of course I said "No, because I met Justin!" :)Darbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01135223299830769638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-722187693151167525.post-33050380965782375422008-03-03T19:00:00.000-06:002008-03-03T19:00:00.000-06:00Abby, This sounds like something out of Little Wom...Abby,
This sounds like something out of Little Women. We have the garden of vegetables and herbs, but no chickens yet. I had to draw the line somewhere! Now if I can just get him to leave me alone about getting goats (he insists we would never have to cut the grass again!). Lanier's house, or should I say homestead, sounds wonderful and your description of it made it seem like I was right there with y'all!
